High School art students are working on a graffiti/ street art unit. Students are making their own stencils to create unique and wearable artwork. We watched a clip from the street art film Exit Through The Gift Shop and began brainstorming ideas for stencils. Students cut their stencils with xacto knives on tagboard paper. We are using the Fashion Graffiti line of fabric paints from the brand Tulip, which features spray paint like bottles in fun colors.
Their assignment is to create a canvas tote bag that I provided, but many have even brought in their own tees and bags to work on. I am looking forward to the products.
The first day has been a blast!
