peer into Ms. Lase's art room at GMG

1st and 2nd Grade October 1, 2009

1st and 2nd Graders have been practicing Contour Line Drawing.
Students practiced drawing themselves and their neighbors, by observation.
We looked at contour drawings by artist, Alexander Calder.

A contour line is a continuous line that represents the edges of the shapes we see or observe.
The drawing should not have a beginning or an end because it is made with one long line.

We had a lot of fun and the room was filled with giggles, because the end result is different than we usually draw ourselves.
